Hero Lab & Shadow d20 Data Set

 

Note this data set will only work correctly if you have the following official data sets from Hero Lab:  

CORE, Ultimate Combat, Ultimate Magic, Advanced Players Guide, Advanced Class Guide, Adventure's Armory, and Pathfinder Unchained.

 

If you are NOT one of my players I take no responsibility for this data set working especially if added to things like the Community Bestiary.  I advise you to NOT install it.

 

Shadow d20 Notes: I have created a Hero Lab data set for the Pathfinder RPG game that includes everything from the shadow d20 wiki.  This includes all the races, feats, equipment, and new class abilities. Please use this data set with Hero Lab (character sheet program) when making your character.

 

The Hero Lab character sheet is NOT FREE, but it is only $30 bucks and well worth it in my book. The scripting language and the support for the product is great. I have been able to easily input all the Shadow d20 rules into the new pathfinder RPG data set and that is awesome!

 

How to setup auto install updates

  1. Follow the instructions in Secondary Update URL Setup Shadow d20.pdf
  2. Congrats you are done. You are now using the Shadow d20 rule data set for the Pathfinder RPG game.  You will now find Shadow d20 races, feats and class talents available while building your character.
  3. After you install the data set the first time Hero Lab will notify you when it finds any updates Shadow d20 and will prompt you to install them when before loading Pathfinder.

    • Added Custom Name: XXXX (Armor, Equipment, Spell, Weapon) which allows for changing the displayed name to something else.
    • Added Custom Text: XXXX (Armor, Equipment, Spell, Weapon) which allows for appending additional text to the name.
    • Added Natural Weapon: Number of Attacks to adjust the number of natural attacks a creature has. So if normally it has Claws x2 you can change it to Claws x4 or Claws x1.
    • Enhanced all Natural Weapon: XXXX adjustments with an advanced feature. You can set the damage dice of the added natural attack exactly by typing in the die tag into the Source section of the adjustment. In example typing "1d12_404" would force the damage die to be 1d12. This means the counter value will get ignored. Obviously this assumes you are familiar with the weapon tags that the Editor Uses. If you are not don't type anything in.
    • Added Equipment, Armor No Longer Slows which allows for removing the armor slow tags.
    • Added Equipment, Remove from In-Play this allows to remove the Tracker that gets added for Weapons, Magic Items, and Gear items.
    • Added Equipment, Make Trackable on In-Play which allows for forcing a item to appear on the In-Play tab. This includes scrolls.
    • Added Caster Level, School adds a bonus/penalty to all your spells caster levels of a specific school of magic. In example select Evocation with +1 and spells like Burning Hands will be have its CL increased by 1.
    • Added Caster Level, Spell adds a bonus/penalty to the selected spell's caster level.
    • Added Class Ability: DC which allows for adjusting a class ability DC value up or down. Lets say you get a magic item that increases the DC of your Channel Energy by 2. Simply select Channel Energy from the drop down list and set the counter to +2.
    • Added Class Ability Custom: (Primary, Secondary, Tertiary, Quaternary, Quintenary) allows for adjusting a classes Custom Ability count. In example you could use Quaternary on the cleric class with a -1 counter to remove the "Optional Variant Channeling Option".
    • Added Class, Bonus Feats Secondary to adjust the number of secondary bonus feats a class gets.
    • Added Class, Bonus Feats to adjust the number of bonus feats a class gets.
    • Added Mythic Power Points to adjust the number of mythic points a character has.
    • Added Mythic Surge Die Size to adjust the die size of your mythic surge ability to a maximum of 1d12 and a minimum value of 1d6.
    • Added Hero, Ability Score Increase to adjust the number of Ability Score Increases that a character gets. In example lets say you want to get two ability score increases at level 4 instead of one. In such a case at level 4 you would select +1 then you will be able to add two "Ability Score Increases" instead of just one.
    • Added Action Points adjustment to increase/decrease the amount of action points a character gets.
    • Added Encumbrance, Carrying Capacity Use this adjustment to change your your Strength score to be treated as higher/lower value than normal when calculating your carrying capacity.
  • version 1.45 - Released 9/14/2013
    • Fixed "Eldritch Blast" timing a little so that Vitriolic Blast can adjust the die size now on iPads.
    • Added "Haste, Mythic Augmented"; "Haste, Mythic"; "Ablative Barrier"; "Mirror Image" spell adjustments.
    • Made "Vital Strike" something that can be activated on iPads now. It correctly works with all versions of Vital Strike including Mythic.  It also only display the first attack when activated.
    • Added "Custom Name: Spell" and "Custom Text: Spell" adjustment which allow for changing the name of a Spell or appending additional text to the Spells name.
    • Changed name of "Weapon: Custom Text" to be "Custom Text: Weapon" to match all the other adjustments.
    • Added "Custom Name: Weapon" adjustment to allow for setting a whole new name on the weapon.

    • Added "Collegiate Wizard" trait that allows a wizard to learn more free spells each level.
    • The 1.5x Str and 50% Power Attack increase for two-handed weapons will be removed when a character reaches level 6+.

    • Lots of fixes for the Dragonborn race. I added some more Alternate Racial Traits and I added Heritages to represent the different Dragon Colors.
    • Broke up Shadow d20 into easier to manage smaller pieces.
    • Added Ethnicities for the Shifter race from the new "People of the North". So Kellid has been moved over to the "Shifter" race away from Humans.
    • "Glitterscale War Gecko" will enforce magic items slots as a "Quadruped/Hexapod (feet)" body type.

  • version 1.35 - Released February 9, 2013 
    • Added "Ability Score Drain" adjustment that makes tracking Drain damage to an ability score. Why this is similar to using "Ability Score (Temporary)" its less confusing to find during actual in game use as it matches the damage type the GM is telling the players. Plus it matches the "Ability Score Damage" adjustment in that you Increase the counter to track damage instead of lowering the counter to track damage.  So this all matches the way the game runs at the table better.
    • Removed the "Source" on the Mythic Playtest Mechanic. This prevents the odd error on a character load about the mechanic not being live.
    • Found a few strange cases where a Feat/Trait picked up the Mythic Tiers as a character level or hit dice causing some totals to be off. These tags have been fixed to prevent the Teir from being seen as a class or Hit Dice.  In example the "Magical Knack" trait picked up a Tier as a class level still increasing the CL of the chosen class.
    • Adding "Barding" tricks for animal companions to be able to be trained to wear armor. Also fixed cavailier mounts that get "Light Armor" to not get an error message about needing 3 Int.
    • Fixed several feats with new tag that tells HL that the feat can be taken by an Animal Companion.
    • The bleed damage listed for the "Boar Style" feat makes no sense as it should be rend damage. I have updated the text on the feat.
    • Added new ART for Grippli called "Swim" that causes the race to lose Camouflage and gain a swim speed instead. Waiting on an official fix from HL to stop the situational text from appearing.
    • Fixed the "Chaos Flame" spell based on Greg A. Vaughan feed back that it was to do 4d4 fire damage and be a touch attack roll.
    • Fixed "Concentration: Witch" to take into account Warlock levels.
    • Warlock Eldritch attack will now list range, default 60ft, and will change (250ft) when you take "Eldritch Spear" ability.

    • Clerics skill points increased to 4 per level up from 2. This should help with such a MAD class.
    • Added Jai's user files for "Slumbering Tsar" campaign.
    • Added a "Campaign" character in portfolios\pathfinder\Shadow d20 Campaign\Campaign, Slumbering Tsar.por.  Please use this to setup your characters.
    • "Raging Luck" feat now has a counter to track the temp action point.

    • Added "Weapon Hide" adjustment that can cause a Natural Attack to no longer shown. This includes "Unarmed Strike".   
  • version 1.33 - Released January 6, 2013
    • Fixed error when dealing with NPC's and you have turned off "Use Action Points".
    • Two-handed weapons will give 1.5x Str when your character has a +6 or higher BAB. Power Attack will also give +50% damage when your BAB is +6.
    • Added in Mythic Playtest rules update version 1.7.
    • Touch Attack and Ranged Touch Attack weapons will now display the Bonus Damage your Caster classes provide. This should help remind players to add this damage in.
    • Changed the two-weapon fighting houserule scripts so they should now RUN much faster.
    • Added a Summon Monster I and II stock file. This contains all the monsters from Summon Monster 1 and 2 with both a Fiendish and Celestial version.

    • Updated "Hide Shirt" to latest rules from "Varisia, Birth place of legend".  Wow its really changed.  Think it makes it a bit more unique armor now though.
    • New tags for Hellknight Plate finally lets me setup Elven chain the correct way.  So the correct ACP value will be displayed and when making custom Elven Chain will auto set itself to Masterwork quality.  We can begin adding other armors this same way so that some specific armors can easily be made custom. Currently I have this done for:
      • Dwarven Plate
      • Elven Chain
      • Mithral Shirt
      • Dragonhide Plate
    • New "Pearl of Powers" spells added so that they can be tracked on the "Spell" tab instead of the "In-Play" tab.
    • Combat Casting feat will give a situational note to all Concentration skills now to help remind players about the bonus.
    • New adjustments allow for adjust all skills by a single attribute (ie all Charisma skills).
    • Added in the latest Mythic Rules play test package (v1.5).   
  • version 1.31 - Released October 31, 2012
    • Fixed "CL vs SR" sub-skill to correctly total the caster level for Warlocks as their Blasts are affected by Spell Resistance.
    • Re-wrote warlocks "Patron Magic" which will fully work with the next release of Pathfinder.
    • Added new options under "House Rules" in the Configure Your Hero window.
    • Some "Shadow d20" special text will now appear to help remind players about some of the house rules that are in effect.
      • "Spells get bonus dmg equal to your CL" this will now correctly try and find abilities from clerics, wizards, etc that are spell-like and do damage.  It will add your CL to the damage.  For spells you need to remember to add the damage.
      • "No 1 round casting spells" after adding spells to your character all 1 round casting time spells will be changed to 1 Full-Round action instead.  So it will print and display on a character correctly.  Just when you choose the spell it won't display.
    • Fixed some situational modifiers.
